Are you Dreaming Life? is life dreaming you?

Introduction

"Of course, you can argue with the proposition that all we are is genes and environment. You can insist that there’s...something more. But if you try to visualize the form this something would take, or articulate it clearly, you’ll find the task impossible, for any force that is not in the genes or the environment is outside of physical reality as we perceive it. It is beyond scientific discourse. This doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist."
Robert Wright, The Moral Animal

As I stepped onto the African Continent, I realized that all problems and dreams of humanity had been experienced in this great land. I instantly had collective memory of all that has ever been and all that is yet to be. Africa is a continent that has been besieged by power struggles. From the days of the Dutch and Portuguese traders sailing around the Cape of Good Hope on their way to the Indian spices, to the control of the mineral resources prolific in South Africa. To the current battles going on over the diamonds and gold of the Congo and oil resources on the West Coast. Personally for me to have come here for healing seemed appropriate. I felt I wanted to go to the depths of my unconscious and heal all the pain for myself and for others. After a lifetime of looking for answers from many sources I longed to dream a better life. This longing pulled me forward.
These Eight Touchstones are the result of that experience and longing. The dream of being able to co-create a valuable life worth living. I was asking myself the questions, how did my life get in such a state without my participation? am I the victim? what has happened to me? where do I fit in?, am I the Dreamer or the Dreamed. The mystery of these questions seemed to have no answer.

However, I am purposing that all of us are the Dreamers and the Dreamed of our lives and more. ARE YOU THE DREAMER OF LIFE?, represents the culmination of my lessons for the last seven years of my life in Africa. I attempt to give some key guidelines to possibly begin to answer these mysterious questions. I had indeed fallen asleep inside my dream of life. I had given up control, and therefore found myself in a nightmare reality. At this point Life was Dreaming me. Although I felt awake, I was asleep. My life was out of control. I wanted to wake up. I want to participate in my life creation process, instead of feeling like a victim. The question I asked was, how do I to wake up? I became aware that I was the Dreamer co-creating my reality with the Dream of Life. I was the mystery of the Dreamer and the Dreamed.

Although it was a seven year process, when I did eventually awaken to a certain point, I slowly started to make choices I normally felt was beyond my control. I began to see and understand that every choice I make consciously or unconscious adds to the creation of my life, the life of those around me and the greater reality of life. At that time, in daily life most of my energy, awareness and perception was used to attend to routine and survival issues. I had developed a narrow band of awareness.

One evening, I was lying in the bathtub thinking about “Life” and the insight came to me concerning my personal ancestors. I have two parents, male and female, mother and father. Each of my parents have two parents. Each of those people have two parents. That is just three generations. Perhaps maybe 300 years. When I count those people there are 12. These people lived in order for me to be born. I wouldn’t be lying in this tub without them having lived before me. They lived and suffered their lives so that I could be here alive today. I carry within my cells their DNA, cellular memory, genes, etc. If I look at 1000 years before I was born. And consider the average life span of 65-90 years that is 10 generations possibly give or take a few life spans. The number of people that ”came before” increases considerably. If I look at the numbers for 10,000 years before I was born the count is in the thousands. Think about the vast amount of life force that has been used and released from people living and dying for you to be born. This inheritance can be seen in many ways, for example, talents, physical stature, hair color, health, longevity, etc. I may think all my thoughts are mine, but a great many of them were possibly handed down through generations of family lines and lives.

There was possibly a vast storehouse of energy within me ready to be tapped, I began to awaken. With practice and awareness this energy could help me fully live my life not just survive. This energy is available to everyone once awakened. This hidden energy has always been available but most of our attention has been elsewhere. I inherited this life force from my parent, grandparents, ancestors, planets, consciousness, etc. This energy I was allocated at birth I felt had been placed in my stewardship. I began to feel connected to life. The vital energy of my essence became free and started to manifest outwardly. The people around me began to give support and love. Life became pleasant and harmonious. I realized the energy I had inherited with my birthright was becoming accessible.

If it is true we have inherited genes, DNA, consciousness, etc., from people that came before me, then surely we have been bequeathed social conditioning, emotional patterns, fear, anger and behaviors as well. It then becomes my responsibility to wake up and heal. We need to bring my body (feelings), mind (thoughts) and spirit (emotions) into the present time. In order to do this we have to begin to bring our attention to focus on something other than mere survival, as our ancestors did.

These ideas are not new and have been said many times in many ways in the ancient texts of wisdom such as; the Bible, Koran, Rig Veda, Upanishads, etc. Some fairy tales, fables, legends and stories we have inherited also speak of being present and accountable.

This book offers an instruction manual, a map and possible perspectives for the management and health of this life force that we have been bequeathed. The fairy tales and books of ancient knowledge all seem to be working with a common communication, message or theme. We can see this message of the ages as “letters from our ancestors”. This communication seems to say,” consciously bring Bodymindspirit (BMS) thoughts (mental), feelings (physical), and emotions (energetic fuel) into the present.” In other words, learn and let go of the past, live in the present and look gently to the future.

Sounds good, doesn’t it? The problem is this. Most of us are not aware that when we are reacting to a situation that is happening in the present it is usually rooted in the past, possibly inherited from the times before. This is especially true for extremely intense thoughts, feelings and emotions. This again brings us to the mystery or paradox of healing. The questions to ask are, How do I do this? How do I arrive at the point that I can forgive once and for all, really forgive with body ,mind and spirit? How do I separate current reality from past events, especially when they are so powerful and feel so real? How do I stop from having intrusive thoughts or compulsions? How do I get to the point where I feel alive without creating drama? How do I rid myself of excessive paranoia and negativity? How do I create harmony inside and around me?

I personally feel it is now time for all of us to wake up from this Life Dream. We can begin consciously changing the dream. In order to heal the past for ourselves, for “those that lived before” and for future generations, we must acknowledge that we are the “Dreamer and the Dreamed” and much, much more. We are indeed co-creating our reality as we go. We also inherited a great deal of our shared reality from the Previous generations.
In Are You Dreaming Life? Is life dreaming you?, I attempt to give structure, cognitive thought and possible actions to take in order to become aware of this Dream we call “Life”. If we apply basic key principles and follow guidelines awakening becomes effortless. One could call these guidelines key concepts, Universal Laws, life skills, etc. Without this format these pearls of wisdom from the “times before” might possibly be too abstract to understand or apply to every day life.

These eight touchstones for Co-Creation are sequenced with developmental stages in Human beings from birth to adulthood .They also co-ordinate with the movement of our life force as it cyclically matures through life. With each attitude and stage of development there always lies the possibility of the shadow. The shadow is the way we learned to cope or survive with our own circumstances. Such as shutting down our emotions or running away in order to cope with hurtful or painful situations.

The Eight Touchstones are:
1. Health & Healing-Being-Survival                    5. Harmony & Rhythm-Will
2. Cause & Effect-Doing-Sexuality                    6.Thought & Creativity-Intuition
3. Choice & Accountability-Thinking- Identity    7. Perception- Integration
4. Prosperity & Gratitude- Relationships           8. Alignment- Transcendence

The following is a specific developmental pattern of the subtle energy as it relates to the nerve plexuses development and function.
1.Sacral Plexus-Physical Survival (birth & staying alive-tribal) Birth-7months
2.Lumbar Plexus Physical Security (food & comfort-sexuality) 7-14 months
3.Solar Plexus (Celiac & Spleenic) Physical Intuition (self identity & safety) 14-21 months
4.Cardiac Plexus Emotional Connections (relation to others including self) 21 months- 7 years
5.Cervical Plexus Communication (affecting. environment using will) 7-14 years
6.Cranial Plexus Divine Intuition (insight & intuition- subjective expression) 14-21 years
7.Cranial Plexus Universal Connection (How I fit in)-Integration 21-28 years.
8.Transpersonal Ancestral or Archetypal Mind-Alignment (Why I am here) 28 years & Pre-birth

The energy cycle at this time reverses.
